They Can't Find Bin Laden But They Can Find You

Creeping authoritarianism comes at us from all dimensions. The decision to utilize satellite surveillance in the domestic arena is only the most recent disturbing development. It is also the hallmark of government which does not trust its citizens, though the feeling is mutual to a large extent. The following express the concerns of many:

"It potentially marks a transformation of American political culture toward a surveillance state in which the entire public domain is subject to official monitoring," said Steven Aftergood, director of the Project on Government Secrecy for the Federation of American Scientists.
