And in another interesting defense related development Pavel Podvig reports that Russia intends to update its early warning satellite system which currently does not provide continuous coverage. I find this a little disturbing to put it mildly considering the likelihood of hair -trigger launch on warning status of the Strategic Rocket Forces.
